Understanding the National Imperative
5:00 pm - Your summit experience begins with registration and a visit to the ActivClassroom in Motion by Promethean, which will be open for visitors throughout the summit. Join us for dinner at 6:30 pm. After dinner, Commissioner Barry (NHDOE) will welcome everyone and Tom Carroll (NCTAF) will discuss the National Imperative to Transform Educator Development, Schooling, and the Role of Teachers.

Understanding
the Barriers and Developing Strategies
7:00 am - If you missed seeing the ActivClassroom in Motion on
Wednesday, you can catch it first thing in the morning (at 7 am) and
then have breakfast (7:30 am). After breakfast, Stephen Jury (Promethean) will discuss the Global
Imperative to Transform Teaching, Learning and Educator Development,
and Milton Chen (Edutopia) will share inspiring media-rich
examples of 21st
century schooling and educator development. P-20 teams will identify
barriers and strategies to overcome them. NH leaders will discuss
policies towards transformation. Paul Resta (UNESCO ICT Task
Force) will discuss Strategies to Enhance Educator Development for
Digital Age Learners. 6:30 pm - Dinner will be followed by a panel
of leaders from NH educational organizations discussing what urgent
changes are needed and what assistance each organization is committed
to providing to affect the transformation necessary.

Understanding
the Research and Developing Action Plans
7:00 am -
The ActivClassroom in Motion will be open first thing in the morning,
and breakfast is at 7:30. Chris Dede (Harvard) will share Research
about the Ways Technology Can Transform Teaching,
Learning, and Educator Development. After P-20 teams identify the
most transformative actions / results, a panel of school administrators
will discuss how to transform educator development in tough times, and
the summit steering committee will share insights from the National
Invitational Summit on Redefining Teacher Education. Nicholas Donohue (Nellie Mae) will deliver the summit closing remarks.
Although
the summit will adjourn at noon, participants can still visit the
ActivClassroom in Motion by Promethean between noon and 2 pm!
